FAST DOWNLOADER monitors network activity on the current page to detect video and audio stream URLs as they load. Once detected, it presents them in the popup so you can choose your preferred format and quality. Downloads go straight to your Chrome Downloads folder — no intermediary server or account required.

Navigate to a Media Page

Go to any page with a video or audio player. Wait for the media to start loading or playing.

Click the Extension Icon

Click the FAST DOWNLOADER icon in your toolbar. The popup lists all detected media streams on the current page.

Choose Format & Quality

Select Video (MP4/WebM) or Audio Only (MP3). Quality levels are shown based on what the source provides.

Click Download

Hit "Download". Chrome's native download manager begins saving the file to your default Downloads folder immediately.

Track Progress

Press Ctrl+J to monitor download progress. Large video files may take a moment depending on your internet speed.

FAST DOWNLOADER does not record, log, or share your browsing history, media URLs, or any personal information.

🗄️ Data Storage

No data is stored persistently. Detected media URLs are held in memory only while the popup is open and discarded immediately when closed.

  • activeTab — reads the current tab to detect media
  • scripting — extracts media URLs from player objects
  • downloads — saves media to your local device
  • webRequest — monitors network requests to identify stream URLs (local only)
  • webNavigation — resets detection on page navigation
  • declarativeNetRequest — handles stream redirect rules

Downloads go directly from their original source to your device. No proxy or external service is involved.
